David, a native of Auburn, Alabama began his dance training at the age of seven with the Lynn Curtis School of Dance. He continued his formal ballet training with the Auburn Ballet School and The Montgomery Ballet. While on Scholarship, David earned his Bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance and Teaching from The University of Alabama at Birmingham under the guidance of Stefan and Melanie Grebel. He has also trained and performed with Alabama Dance Theater, Broadway Dance Center in New York.
Specializing in Pas de Deux, David currently works as a freelance teacher and guest instructor. Some of his more notable performances include: The Grand Pas de Deux from Coppelia; The Grand Pas de Deux, Rose Adagio, and Blue Bird Pas de Deux from Sleeping Beauty; Sugar Plum Pas de Deux, Snow King, Russian, Arabian, Mouse King, and Red Rose Pas de Deux from The Nutcracker; The Grand Pas de Deux from Don Quixote; The Wolf from Peter and the Wolf; and Shah Zeman from Scheherazade. He took the lead role for an original ballet performance with the 2012 International Trumpet Guild, and the next year, earned the trophy for Best Choreography for his performance in the 2013 Dancing Stars of East Alabama. David currently teaches worldwide through his freelance business, Ballet Intermezzo.
